Being Able to Inspire In a Speech, Is No Small Thing
The Clinton campaign has changed it's message again. Now they say that they are the one's with action while Sen. Obama is the candidate of talk, speech.
Every week millions of American's pour into their religious gathering places to praise God. In those places they hear the Word as proclaimed by almighty God. Regardless of whether you believe the Word to be true or not, if you don't have a good speaker/preacher, whatever is being said will not hold your attention. If the preacher is really good, you would feel inspired enough to do things you'd never consider doing before. Whether that's doing your own speaking to others, spending time with teens in need of help, feeding the homeless, etc. An inspirational speaker can make you see things differently and step outside your comfort zone.
Now, I'm not saying that Sen. Obama is a preacher. I'm simply saying that because of Sen. Obama's ability as an inspirational speaker, he has the power to give people hope and encouragement. What's wrong being made to feel that this country can do better? What's wrong with being made to feel that the people of this country deserve to have a place at the table? What's wrong with being made to feel that America can no longer do things the same? And, on top of that; what's wrong with telling American's that they have to work hard to make the changes work?
Hillary Clinton is not an inspirational speaker. But, because she is not, she downplays Sen. Obama's ability to do so. She knows that when it comes to a good campaign speech, he has her beat. One of the things that Sen. Obama says in his speech is that hope plays a big part, BUT, you also have to work to make the things that you want to happen. I guess Hillary Clinton missed that part of his speech.
It's nothing wrong with two candidates contrasting their ideas. What I do find disingenuous is Hillary Clinton's mischaracterizing his positions and his words. Hillary, attend a public speaking class. Or, maybe inspire people with how you carry yourself. The thousands of people who show up at Sen. Obama's rally's are not ignorant people. They are inspired people who do have hope and understand that they must work hard to accomplish their goals. These thousands of people aren't wrong.
